This Year’s Awards Criteria
Lions are as diverse as the needs we serve. And this year’s awards recognize the unique strengths of each constitutional area. Your group number will help determine how you can qualify for recognition.
- Group 1: CA II, CA VII, CA VIII
- Group 2: CA III
- Group 3: CA I, CA IV, CA V, CA VI*
*Qualifications for CA VI differ for the “Specialty Club” and “Fast Start” awards
Please keep in mind that each Lion is only eligible to receive one President’s Award or one President’s Leadership Award in a Lions year. If a recipient is not eligible for their award, they may nominate another Lion who significantly contributed to the achievement.

Fast Start Charter Challenge
Lions Club Charter Award
District governors who charter clubs within the first quarter can qualify to earn a special plaque.
- District governors from CA VI who form five Lions clubs will qualify for recognition.
- District governors from all other CAs who form two Lions clubs will qualify for recognition.
Specialty Club Charter Award
Specialty Club Program Coordinator Recognition
Specialty club program coordinators who charter specialty clubs by October 31, 2021 and report them by November 15, 2021 can qualify to receive a President’s Certificate of Appreciation.
- SCPCs from CA VI who charter three specialty clubs will qualify for recognition.
- SCPCs from all other CAs who charter two specialty clubs will qualify for recognition.
District Level Recognition
District governors and district GMTs who recruit one specialty club program coordinator who charters one specialty club by October 31, 2021 and reports it by November 15, 2021, will qualify to receive a Specialty Clubs District Achievement Certificate.

District governors of the top districts with the highest percentage of Lions sponsoring new members by group will qualify to receive a President’s Award.
- Group 1 – Top five district governors will be honored.
- Group 2 – Top seven district governors will be honored.
- Group 3 – Top ten district governors will be honored.
Club Level Award
The top clubs with the highest percentage of Lions sponsoring new members by group, and with at least five members participating, will qualify to receive a President’s Certificate of Appreciation for the club president, a banner patch for the club and a special e-certificate for each of the participating members.
- Group 1 – Top 100 clubs will be honored.
- Group 2 – Top 150 clubs will be honored.
- Group 3 – Top 200 clubs will be honored.

District GMTs of the top districts with the highest percentage of membership retention by group will qualify to earn a President’s Leadership Award.
District Governor Award
District governors of the top districts with the highest percentage of membership retention by group will qualify to earn a President’s Award.
Qualifying Criteria
- Group 1 – Top five most successful districts will be honored.
- Group 2 – Top seven most successful districts will be honored.
- Group 3 – Top ten most successful districts will be honored.
Club Level Award
Club presidents and club membership chairs of clubs that have retained 100% of their members will each receive a special e-certificate.

New Club Development
District Level Award
District governors of the top districts with the highest number of new club charters by group will qualify to earn the opportunity to honor a Lion of their choice with a President’s Award.
- Group 1 – Top five districts will be honored.
- Group 2 – Top seven districts will be honored.
- Group 3 – Top ten districts will be honored.
Club Level Award
Club organizers will be recognized with a President’s Certificate of Appreciation included with the materials shipped at the time of club charter.

July 1, 2021 – June 20, 2022
Specialty Club Program Coordinator Recognition
First Club Development Award
Upon completion of one club in their development plan, SCPCs will receive a special e-certificate and a special note of recognition.
Year End Development Award
At the end of the Lions year, SCPCs can qualify to receive a special plaque.
- SCPCs from CA VI who charter five specialty clubs will qualify for recognition.
- SCPCs from all other CAs who charter two specialty clubs will qualify for recognition.
Specialty Club Program International Coordinator Recognition
At the end of the Lions year, specialty club program international coordinators will nominate SCPCs who have contributed the most in their CAs for the opportunity to receive a President’s Award or a President’s Leadership Award.
- Group 1 – Three President’s Awards and three President’s Leadership Award to be awarded.
- Group 2 – Five President’s Awards and five President’s Leadership Award to be awarded.
- Group 3 – Six President’s Awards and six President’s Leadership Award to be awarded.
