Get to know the Cub Program

This special program is designed for kids ages 12 and younger to teach them the joy of volunteering and help them develop a lifelong dedication to helping those in need. Cubs don’t need to be related to a Lions member to participate — they just need to be ready to help and have fun.

Enhance your club with Cubs

Sponsoring a Cub club can help you build a family-friendly Lions club and add new energy to your club by integrating Cub members into club meetings, activities and service projects. Cubs can also have their own service projects when age appropriate and with the help of an experienced Lions club member.

Getting started

The first step to implementing a Cub Program is choosing a member of your Lions club to be the Cub Program contact who will guide the Cubs in their meetings and service projects.

From there, determine if you have enough members to start a Cub club. A minimum of five Cubs is required to start a Cub club, but even if you have less than five, the kids can still be considered Cubs. If you have enough members to form a club, ensure the Cub contact is added in the online reporting system.

Once a club is formed, the Cub club contact can order Cub patches free of charge to help Cubs feel like part of the club and energize them to participate. A maximum of 30 patches can be ordered annually. For more information or to request your Cub club's patches, email membership@lionsclubs.org.
