The mission:
MISSION 1.5 is the drive to grow worldwide, so we can better meet the growing needs of our communities and serve more people than ever before.
Challenge accepted by:
Asunción Especializado en Finanzas Lions Club, Paraguay
Summary:
Chartered on May 10, 2024, by 20 founding members, the finance-focused club has rapidly expanded and thrived. By March 2025, the club had grown to over 75 members. As part of that expansion, 20 members branched off to establish Asunción Universitario, which now operates independently. Today, the original club has 46 active members and continues to grow through strategic outreach and engagement.
About the club:
The first of its kind in Latin America, this energetic club brings together young professionals, students and entrepreneurs committed to using their financial expertise to create positive change. For them, financial knowledge is a practical tool — one they use to serve communities, promote inclusion and drive economic empowerment. Members range in age from 18 to 54, bringing a powerful blend of fresh ideas and hands-on experience to every project.

The club fuels its growth with a savvy digital strategy, using targeted social media campaigns and compelling storytelling to attract those who share its passion for financial education and service. But recruitment is just the beginning — the club keeps members engaged through consistent, purposeful interaction. Meetings are lively and interactive, often featuring financial games, budgeting competitions and team-building challenges that encourage creativity, collaboration and the application of practical skills. These activities help foster a strong sense of belonging and shared purpose among members.
That impact shines through in club-led initiatives like “Finance for All,” which delivers free financial literacy workshops to vulnerable communities, and “Purposeful Economy,” a mentoring program for young entrepreneurs. The club also takes part in national events like Global Money Week to promote financial education. To develop future leaders, the club founded the Leo Club “Finanzas” in June 2025, which is 76 reported Leos strong — and growing!
