Connect with Leos
The key to encouraging Leos to become Lions is through connection, and that can happen in a variety of ways.
Serving alongside Leos is a great way to connect and get to know them on a personal level. Another way to connect with your Leos is to find out what matters to them — your club might offer them exactly what they’re looking for in their next step in service.
Learn more about encouraging Leos to transition in the Leo to Lion Best Practices Guide.
Start the conversation
Before you can talk to your Leos about transitioning, you’ll need to find out which Leos clubs have Leos aging up from the Leo Club Program. Use the Leos Aging Up Report to find out if a Leo club near you has Leos aging up. If so, connect with your district or multiple district Leo chairperson or the club’s Leo club advisor to help Leos find their next steps.
Talk to your Leos using the Leo to Lion Talking Points document and PowerPoint presentation, which highlight the benefits of becoming a Lion and other important information for Leos looking to transition.
Share membership options
We recommend sharing information about Leo-Lion membership with your Leos, as this membership type is exclusive to former Leos and offers benefits just for them. The Young Lions Membership Guide highlights all the different membership options for Leos taking their next steps and is a great resource to guide the conversation about transitioning.
Celebrate your new Lions
Leos becoming Lions is an event worth celebrating, so be sure to plan an induction ceremony to welcome them as Lions! Also, be sure to check out the Leo to Leo-Lion Membership Award, which honors Leo club advisors, district Leo chairpersons and multiple district Leo chairpersons who’ve helped Leos transition to Leo-Lions.
