Certification

Candidates are evaluated for certification based on a 60-minute training session. To become a certified instructor, candidates must meet or exceed these LCIP Competencies.

What happens if I pass and become a Lions Certified Instructor?

Candidates who pass are certified for four (4) years of which the last year is the recertification year.  Certified Instructors are expected to seek opportunities and actively promote their availability and willingness to deliver trainings in their area. Certified Instructors are expected to facilitate Leadership Development programs at all levels, including but not limited to:

  • Club Officer Trainings
  • Zone Chairperson Trainings
  • Regional Lions Leadership Institutes
  • First and Second Vice District Governor Trainings
  • Emerging Lions Leadership Institutes
  • Advanced Lions Leadership Institutes
  • Faculty Development Institutes
  • Lions Certified Instructor Program offerings
  • Additional programs as requested
What happens if I don’t pass certification?
  • Candidates who do not achieve certification are provided detailed, constructive feedback and a timeframe within which the needed performance improvements could be achieved.
  • Candidates are strongly recommended to take the suggested time to reflect on the feedback, make certain adjustments as needed and seek opportunities to practice and improve their facilitation skills.
  • Once the recommended adjustments have been made, candidates should seek a local training opportunity and request approval to record the training session by completing the LCIP Video Recording Request Form and sending it to lcip@lionsclubs.org two months prior to the training.

Recertification

The LCIP recertification focuses on the professional development of Lions faculty. Lions eligible for certification renewal are notified prior to and at the beginning of the recertification year.

For more information review the LCIP Recertification Overview.

If you are currently eligible for Recertification, your assigned courses are in the Lions Learning Center (located within Learn using your Lion Account).
