Lions Clubs International Wins Web Site and Video Awards
OAK BROOK, IL, September 23, 2009 – Lions Clubs International and Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) recently earned honors from two professional media associations for their new Web site and videos featuring global volunteer efforts and an appeal for disaster relief in China.
After the recent creation and launch of the new www.lionsclubs.org, the Lions Clubs International Web site is the recipient of the 2009 Non-Profit Standard of Excellence WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development from the Web Marketing Association.
Featured on the Lions Clubs International Web site, the association’s LQ (Lions Quarterly Video Magazine) won two Tellys for Charitable/Not-for-Profit Video and Charitable/Not-for-Profit Online Video. LQ features stories of Lions volunteers all over the world making a difference in their communities. Produced by CBH Video, LQ can be viewed on www.lionsclubs.org, as well as on YouTube, iTunes and MySpace. Also produced by CBH Video, LCIF’s China Earthquake Appeal Message won a Telly in the category of Fundraising Online Video.
The Telly Awards honor the best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, including pieces created for the Web. This year more than 14,000 entries were submitted from all 50 states and five continents. The judges were top advertising and production professionals and past award winners.
