INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

Sonja Pulley, from Portland, Oregon, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 93rd International Convention, held in Sydney, Australia, June 28 to July 2, 2010.

Director Pulley is a chiropractic physician.

A member of the Portland Downtown Lions Club, and a Lion since 1985, she has held many offices within the association, including club president, district governor and council chair. She also served as host chairperson of USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum, chairperson of the MD36 Lions Faculty Development Institute, chairperson of the NW Lions Regional Leadership Institute and a faculty member at the Lions Regional Faculty Development Institute in Phoenix.

In recognition of her service to the association, she has received numerous awards including the 100% President Award, 100% District Governor Award, three International President’s Certificates of Appreciation, an International Leadership Medal and an International President’s Medal. She is an Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation Fellow, a Norman Ross Fellow and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to her Lions activities, Director Pulley is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including the serving as a member of the Clinical Management Committee Board of Complementary Healthcare Plans Group. She has also served as President of the Chiropractic Society of Oregon and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Chiropractic Society of Oregon.

Director Pulley has two sons, a daughter and three grandchildren.
