JOSEPH YOUNG
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Joseph Young, from Claremont, Ontario, Canada, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 92nd International Convention, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, July 6-10, 2009.
Director Young is a Presiding Justice of the Peace for the Ontario Court of Justice, Criminal Division.
A member of the Claremont District Lions Club, and a Lion since 1968, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, district governor, district cabinet secretary-treasurer, multiple district council chair and CSF II sector coordinator for Canada. He has also served as the director and vice chairman of the board of the Lions Foundation of Canada, the director of Lions Clubs Camp Kirk and the chairman of the board for Lions Clubs Camp Kirk.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including the 100% President Award, 100% District Governor Award, five International President Certificates of Appreciation and the International President Award. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Young is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is currently the Director of the Friends of the Learning Disabled.
Director Young is married to his wife, Elizabeth, who also a Lion.
