J.
Frank Moore, of Daleville, Alabama, USA, was elected
to serve as president of The International Association
of Lions Clubs at the association's 84th International
Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, July 2-6,
2001.
Past
President Moore is an educator by profession and a former
superintendent of education for the Daleville, Alabama,
USA, city schools.
A
member of the Daleville Lions Club since 1975, Past
President Moore has held many positions within the association,
including club president, zone chairman, cabinet secretary/treasurer
and district governor. He currently serves as chairman
of the Lions Clubs International Foundation. In the
past, he served as an international director on the
association's board of directors. Past President Moore
was a member of the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum
Planning Committee from 1996-98. He is past president
of the Alabama Lions Sight Conservation Association,
Inc. and past president of the Past District Governors
of Alabama. He also served as a District Governors-elect
school group leader in 1997 and 1998.
Past
President Moore has received numerous awards in recognition
of his service to the association, including two Lion
of the Year awards, a 30-Member Key Award, the Henry
W. Sweet Outstanding Past District Governor award, two
International President Leadership medals, seven International
President's Awards and the Ambassador of Good Will Award,
the highest honor the association bestows upon its members.
He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In
addition to his Lion activities, Past President Moore
is active in numerous professional and community organizations.
He is chairman of the Daleville City Planning and Zoning
Commission, a member of the board of directors of the
Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union and a member
of the Army Aviation Museum Foundation executive committee.
He is also a former chief executive officer of the Association
of the United States Army.
Past
President Moore and wife Rita, also a Lion and Melvin
Jones Fellow, have a son and two daughters, who also
are Lions.
