Past International
President
Augustin Soliva, of
Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, served as president of
The International Association of Lions Clubs following
his election at the association's 79th International
Convention, held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, July 9-12,
1996.
Past President Soliva
is a board chairman of a company.
A Lion since 1964, Past
President Soliva is a Life Member of the Sao Jose dos
Campos (Centro) Lions Club. He has held many positions
within the association, including club president and
district governor. Past President Soliva served as an
appointee to the International Board of Directors in
1976-77, and as an international director in 1980-82.
He also served in his multiple district as chairman
of the Governors-elect Seminar for many years and participated
as a group leader during seven international seminars.
Past President Soliva is serving as a Lions Clubs International
board committee appointee for 1999-2000.
In recognition of his
many contributions to the association, Past President
Soliva has received many awards, including the 100%
District Governor Award, 22 International President's
Awards and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest
honor the association bestows upon its members. He is
also a Melvin Jones Fellow.
Active in many professional
organizations, Past President Soliva is a delegate of
the Regional Union of Vehicle Authorization Concessionary
and serves on the board of counsellors of the University
of Sao Jose dos Campos.
Past President Soliva
and his wife, Helena, have five children.
