Aubrey D. Green
Past International
President Aubrey
D. Green, of York, Alabama, USA, was elected president
of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the
association's 46th annual convention held in Miami,
Florida, USA, June 1963.
A former Alabama state
senator, Past President Green is president of South
Coastal Consultants, Inc. and for 40 years he was an
automobile dealer.
A member of the York
Lions Club since 1947, Past President Green received
many awards including an Extension Award, the Key Member
Award, the 100% District Governor Award, 16 International
President's Awards and the Ambassador of Good Will Award,
the highest honor the association grants to its members.
He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lion
activities, Past President Green is a Chairman-Emeritus
of the Board of Trustees of the University of South
Alabama, where he served as a member for thirty years.
He is now president of the University of South Alabama
Foundation. He served for five years as chairman of
the Alabama State Council on the Arts and Humanities.
Past President Green
is an Elder in his church, and serves as teacher of
an adult class. He has also received the Order of Merit
from the governments of both Ecuador and Peru, the Hipolito
Jose de Costa Medal from the Inter-American Press Association
and the World Citizen Award from Civitan International,
Tree of Life Award and Cedars of Lebanon Award.
He and his wife, Ellen,
have two children.
