JANEZ BOHORIČ
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Janez Bohorič, from Kranj, Slovenia, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 93rd International Convention, held in Sydney, Australia, June 28 to July 2, 2010.
Director Bohorič works as a leader in the Slovenian Government.
A member of the Škofja Loka Lions Club, and a Lion since 1990, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chair, region chair, district governor and a district international relations cabinet member. He has also served as the Area 4 leader for the Eastern European Project.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including the 100% President Award, Zone Chairperson Award, Region Chairperson Award, District Governor Appreciation Award, five Extension Awards, District Chairperson Award, International President’s Paradigm Award, seven International President’s Certificates of Appreciation and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the association’s highest honor. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Bohorič is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including serving as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Macedonia in Slovenia, a member of the Executive Board of the Slovene Association of Managers and an honorary member of the Slovene Tourist Association. He has also served as chairperson of the Slovene Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Director Bohorič and Polonca Oblak have two daughters.
