LUIS DOMINGUEZ
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Luis Dominguez, from Mijas Pueblo, Spain, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 92nd International Convention, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, July 6-10, 2009.
Director Dominguez runs his own business.
A member of the Mijas Lions Club and a Lion since 1986, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, region chair, zone chair, membership chair, district governor, multiple district international relations chair, council chair, district and multiple district LCIF chair, Leadership Institute faculty member, and SightFirst coordinator for Spain, Gibraltar and Andorra. He also headed the Spanish Lions’ construction of 100 homes in Sri Lanka for tsunami victims.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including six International President Certificates of Appreciation, two International President’s Medals and an LCIF humanitarian medal. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Dominguez is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is a current member of the board of directors of the Business Association of Mijas.
Director Dominguez and his wife, Loly Ruiz, also a Lion and a Melvin Jones Fellow, have one daughter.
