Hidenori Shimizu, from Takasaki, Japan, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 96th International Convention held in Hamburg, Germany July 5 through 9, 2013.Director Shimizu is president of Shimizu Nassen, Inc.
A member of the Takasaki Lions Club since 1966, he has held many offices within the association, including president, district governor, district honorary committee chairperson, and multiple district public relations and information technology chairperson.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including the 100% Club President, Membership Advancement Key Award, International Twinning Award, Senior Master Key Award and the International President’s Award. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Shimizu is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including the National Textile Printing/Staining Industry Association, the Gunma Textile and Apparel Association, and the Takasaki Politics and Economics Council.
Director Shimizu and his wife, Utako, have two sons, one daughter and 12 grandchildren.
