INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

James Cavallaro, from Springfield, Pennsylvania, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 93rd International Convention, held in Sydney, Australia, June 28 to July 2, 2010.

Director Cavallaro is a retired healthcare senior administrator.

A member of the Springfield Lions Club since 1979, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chair, leadership chair, finance chair, vice district governor and district governor. He also served as State Protocol Chair, a Mission 30 leader and a district chair for Campaign SightFirst II.

In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including the 100% Club President Award, 100% District Governor Award, Pennsylvania Fellows Award, Membership Award, International President’s Certificates of Appreciation, an International President’s Leadership Award and an International President’s Medal. He is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to his Lions activities, Director Cavallaro is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He has served as a board member for the Township Environmental Committee, the Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the CareLink mental health program and the Indian Guide Program. He is also the recipient of a Springfield Township Honorary Volunteer Award.

Director Cavallaro resides with his wife Michelle, a charter member of her Lions club. He has three children; he and Michelle share seven grandchildren.
