LCIF Providing Relief for Tennessee Flooding
Lions Clubs International Foundation is mobilizing US$80,000 in funding to assist Lions in their relief efforts, this includes a Major Catastrophe Grant and emergency grants. Lions in three districts affected by flooding in Tennessee are providing emergency relief supplies including food, water and medicine.
More than 32 people are dead following terrible storms and flooding in early May. Forty-two of the state's counties have been declared disaster areas, and flood damage to residences is estimated at US$1.5 billion in the Nashville area alone.
Lions Clubs International Foundation awards nearly US$2 million annually in emergency grants, in addition to major catastrophe funding for larger-scale disasters.
