Past International President
William H. Wunder
Dr. William H. Wunder, of Wichita, Kansas, USA, served as president of The International Association of Lions Clubs following his election at the association's 78th International Convention, held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, July 4-7, 1995.
Past President Wunder is a professor and chair of the Division of Business, Technology, and Leadership in the graduate school at Friends University. He is also a former president of Marymount College of Kansas. A Vietnam War Veteran, Past President Wunder retired in the grade of Colonel after serving nearly 23 years on active duty in the U.S. Regular Army.
A Lion since 1982, Past President Wunder is a member of the Wichita Northwest Lions Club. He has held many leadership positions at all levels of the association. Past President Wunder was a member of the International Board of Directors from 1989-91.
In recognition of his service to the association, Past President Wunder has received numerous District and International awards, including the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor granted to a member by the association. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
Past President Wunder is involved in several professional organizations and his church. He has received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Emporia State University, the highest honor that can be granted to an alumnus or alumna by the Alumni Association. In addition, he has received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the U.S. Army War College.
Past President Wunder and his wife, Dorothy, also a Lion, have two sons, a daughter and eight grandchildren.
