Partnerships for Children and Adolescents
Joining Forces to Help Youth
To help local Lions fulfill the needs of the children and adolescents in their communities, Lions Clubs International (LCI) maintains partnerships with several outstanding organizations that provide assistance to youth.
Scouts
LCI has worked in cooperation with the Girl Scouts of America and the Boy Scouts of America for decades. Around the world, Lions clubs have sponsored thousands of Scout troops. And today, Lions clubs sponsor more Scout troops than any other non-religious organization in the USA.
America's Promise
LCI is part of America's
Promise – a consortium of 250 businesses,
organizations and government agencies. America's Promise strives to provide the five fundamental resources
children need to succeed – caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, an
effective education and opportunities to help others.
Youth Service America (YSA)
YSA increases the quality and quantity of youth volunteer opportunities for young people, ages five to 25, to serve locally, nationally and globally. LCI supports YSA by encouraging Lions clubs and members to participate in National Youth Service Day (USA) and Global Youth Service Day.
The Hadley School for the Blind
Hadley provides free distance education for blind or visually impaired individuals who are at least 14 years of age – and for relatives/family members of the blind or visually impaired. Lions work with Hadley to help enroll people who can benefit from these free courses.
LCI also supports the UNICEF School-in-a-Box program and has several partnerships to help children with diabetes.
