• The Creswick (Australia) Lions Club supported a playground.

• The Benton (Ill.) Lions Club provided a pizza party for classrooms that collected the most eyeglasses.

• The Norwin Lions Club started an initiative to keep kids from going hungry during the weekend.

• More than 1,000 people attended a health camp organized by the Lions Club of Mangalore Midtown (India).

• The Houston County Lions Club provides blue lights for the city to use during November for Diabetes Awareness Month.

• The Agawam Lions Club donated hand-crank bicycles to people who use wheelchairs.

• The  Palmer Rapids and Area Lions Club donated $1,000 to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s MRI fundraising campaign.

• Indian River (Del.) High School students hosted their first annual Leo Club Book Drive.

• The Cologne (Minn.) Lions Club donated 64 dictionaries to third-grade students.

• The Lions Club of Penang Host (Malaysia) hosted a meal for 170 people from eight “charitable homes” in honor of the nine-day Nine Emperor Gods festival or Kew Ong Yah. 

• The Chelmsford (UK) Lions Club partnered with other community groups to clean up a river. More than 100 volunteers participated in the litter pick up. 

• The Manheim (Penn.) Lions Club is partnering with a car dealership as a fundraiser for its BRAKES (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe) program. 

• A teenager collected 83 pairs of glasses for the Garden City (Mich.) Lions Club.

• A playhouse built by prisoners of Manawatu Prison in New Zealand was raffled off to raise money for the Rewanui Kindergarten and Feilding Lions Club.

• The Levittown (N.Y.) Lions Club showcased two puppy guide dogs to raise money for America's VetDogs program.

• The Wheat City (Canada) Lions Club partnered with the city to build a multi-use park that includes mountain biking trails, benches, picnic tables and a fenced-in area for small dogs.

• The Kona (Hawaii) Lions Club built five picnic tables and 12 benches for schools and parks in the community.

• The Lions Club of Pattaya-Pratamnak (Thailand) donated six wheelchairs to residents.

• The Medlake (Ohio) Lions Club donated 10 acres of land to the township.

• The Peru (Ill.) Lions Club donated six sign language dolls to students with disabilities.

• Lions in District 403A launched the first Braille Reading Center in Liberia.

• The Market Harborough (UK) Lions Club organized a blind walk through town for World Sight Day.

• The Sherborn (Mass.) Lions Club donated $2,965 to the library to fund a video magnifier.

• The Bushkill/Smithfields (Penn.) Lions Club donated $2,000 to help a child who has cancer.

• The Bridlington (UK) Lions Club donated new specialized toys to a nursery school for children with developmental needs.

• The Conroe Noon Lions Club (Texas) has partnered with LSC-Montgomery for an eyeglass drive.

• The Marine City (Mich.) Lions Club organized and hosted Oktoberfest in its community.

• The Ballard (Wash.) Lions Club will help build a new section of the Sensory Garden, which will include plants with various textures and fragrances planted at wheelchair height.

• The Camarillo-Somis Pleasant Valley (Calif.) Lions Club took 35 students to Target for back to school shopping, spending $150 on each child in need.

• The Ashby-De-La-Zouch and Coalville (England) Lions Club organized a trip to the fair for more than 600 children with disabilities, an effort it has taken up for more than 30 years.

• The Northgate Lions Senior Recreation Centre in Alberta re-opened.

• The Grand Junction (Colo.) Lions Club donated $23,000 to community organizations.

• The Mount Lions (New Zealand) Club wants to turn a former croquet lawn into a community garden.

• The sixth annual Imperial Lions Club (Calif.) Glasses for Kids event provided free vision screenings and glasses for children and other free health services for adults.

• Oveido-Winter Springs (Fla.) Lions Club partnered with The Forgotten Ones charity to assist those who cannot afford eyeglasses or eye surgery.
