• KnoxNews.com (Tennessee, USA) Oct. 22, 2011 – The Knox North Lions Club adopted the Whittle Springs Middle School, which received special government funding because of the number of low-income families it serves, and provided school supplies and coats to students in need.

• Suffolk News-Herald (Virginia, USA) Oct. 19, 2011 – Ten Lions spent five days performing vision screenings on 1,500 children at 24 Head Start Centers, which serve the economically disadvantaged.

• The Highlander (Texas, USA) Oct. 18, 2011 – The Marble Falls Noon Lions Club held its 18th annual Warm Coat Drive.

• Herald-Tribune (Florida, USA) Oct. 18, 2011 – The Sarasota Lions Club donated $5,000 to pay for an ophthalmic surgical table at the Southeastern Guide Dogs' veterinary facility.

• The Press (England) Oct. 18, 2011 – The York Lions Club raised £473 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance program.

• E-Pao (India) Oct. 16, 2011 – The Imphal Lions Club planted 300 saplings.

• Coastweek (Kenya) Oct. 14, 2011 – The Mombasa Island Lions Club hosted a medical screening camp that served almost 2,000 people.

• The Abington Journal (Pennsylvania, USA) Oct. 14, 2011 – The Scranton Lions Club donated $12,000 to its county branch of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind.

• Ruston Daily Leader (Louisiana, USA) Oct. 13, 2011 – The Ruston Lions Club performed its 2,000th preschool vision screening.

• Bridlington Free Press (England) Oct. 13, 2011 – The Bridlington Lions Club and the North Wolds Lions Club bought a bike for a learning disabled man after his was stolen and raised money for the Riding for the Disabled Association.

• The Lac du Bonnet Leader (Canada) Oct. 13, 2011 – The Lac du Bonnet Lions Club teamed up with 10 high school students to collect 815 pounds of food for a local food bank.

• Del Mar Times (California, USA) Oct. 12, 2011 – The Del Sol Lions Club volunteered at the San Diego Food Bank.

• Margaret River Mail (Australia) Oct. 12, 2011 – The Margaret River Lions Club funded one year of infant first aid classes for a local mom’s group.

• Star News Online (North Carolina, USA) Oct. 11, 2011 – The Wilmington Cape Fear Lions Club screened 55 people for vision problems using the N.C. Vision Van, which is owned by the N.C. Lions Foundation.

• The News-Messenger (Ohio, USA) Oct. 7, 2011 – The Lindsey Lions Club, in collaboration with the Fremont Lions Club and the Elmore Lions Club, donated almost $1,400 to help a local man undergoing eye surgery.

• The Review (Ohio, USA) Oct. 7, 2011 – The Calcutta Lions Club will send 50 packages to troops serving overseas as part of its Roar for the Troops program.

• Crawley Observer (England) Oct. 7, 2011 – The Crawley Lions Club helped bring a television and Nintendo Wii to a hospital’s stroke rehabilitation program.

• Bray People (Ireland) Oct. 5, 2011 – The Bray Lions Club donated €3,100 to a hospice foundation.

• Lake County News-Sun (Illinois, USA) Oct. 3, 2011 – The Winthrop Harbor Lions Club donated a classroom amplification system to a local school.

• The Hays Daily News (Kansas, USA) Oct. 3, 2011 – The Hays Lions Club enlisted the assistance of local art students to decorate its trailer.

• Bayside Bulletin (Australia) Oct. 3, 2011 – The Capalaba Lions Club provided dental services and education to the remote island of Aore, Vanuatu, which hadn’t received a visit from a dentist in 20 years.

• The Worcester Telegram and Gazette (Massachusetts, USA) Oct. 2, 2011 – The Putnam Lions Club hosted a dog walk to support Canines for Combat Veterans.
