Lions, Special Olympics Celebrate 10 Years of Changing Lives through Opening Eyes
This month, we’re celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Lions Clubs International-Special Olympics Opening Eyes program. During the recent 2010 Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia Regional Games in Warsaw, Poland, LCIF Chairperson Eberhard J. Wirfs joined Dr. Timothy Shriver, Chairman and CEO of Special Olympics, to celebrate this partnership. Lions members also reached a major milestone during this event – screening the 200,000th Special Olympian as part of the Opening Eyes program. Read blog.
2011 International Convention
More than 12,000 Lions attended our 2010 convention in Australia. And now, we’re looking forward to our 94th annual International Convention in Seattle, Washington, USA. Lions from around the world will come together from Monday, July 4, 2011 through Friday, July 8, 2011, to enjoy this exciting four-day event filled with fellowship, learning and fun.
