Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) is committed to bringing aid to communities impacted by the recent earthquake in Chile. The earthquake is one of the largest ever recorded, resulting in more than 800 deaths and leaving 2 million people displaced. LCIF has already awarded four emergency grants, each for US$10,000, to districts T-1, T-2, T-3 and T-4 in Chile. District T-3 includes the city of Concepcion, one of the hardest hit areas in the country. Visit the LCIF Web site for the latest news.
Yu-Min Chen, a 13-year-old girl from Multiple District 300 Taiwan,
created this year's grand prize winning poster in the Lions
International Peace Poster Contest. Judges chose her poster for its
originality, artistic merit and portrayal of this year's theme, "The
Power of Peace." Chen said she wanted her poster to "show that children
hope to live in a peaceful world."
Chen was recognized for her accomplishment at Lions Day with the United Nations on Friday, March 26, 2010. Read news release.
