Hearing Aid Recycling Program (HARP)

The need is great.  The World Health Organization estimates that 360 million people worldwide have disabling hearing loss.   Yet, current annual production of hearing aids meets less than 10% of the global need.  The Lions Hearing Aid Recycling Program (HARP) enables Lions to provide affordable hearing aids for individuals with limited financial resources.

Establish a Lions Hearing Aid Recycling Program Center (HARP)

Here are some general guidelines for forming a new Lions Hearing Aid Recycling Program Center (HARP):

• Determine support of a new Lions HARP from the established medical community, e.g. an audiologist or hearing care professional.
• Determine support from your club, district or multiple district.
• Follow Board Policy for the Lions Clubs International Hearing Aid Recycling Program.
• Determine a budget for the ongoing operation of a Lions HARP.
• Contact the Legal Division at Lions Clubs International for authorization to use the Lions name and/or emblem.
• Contact the Health & Children’s Services Department for information.
