Help for the Hearing Impaired

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there are 278 million people with moderate to profound hearing loss in both ears. As a Lion, you can take an active role in:

  • Supporting hearing loss prevention
  • Promoting community awareness and education
  • Assisting children and adults who are hearing impaired or deaf

Lions provide help for the hearing impaired through activities such as:

  • Community awareness and education
  • Screenings
  • Financial assistance for provision of hearing aids or other communication aids
  • Support of recreational camps
  • Hearing aid collection and recycling
  • Providing support to dog schools for the deaf
