International Relations Projects

The International Relations program provides clubs with resources to plan service activities focused on international understanding and cooperation.

Lions Clubs International supports the United Nations (UN) idea of a world at peace, and has maintained consultative status with the Economic and Social Council since 1947. Lions are encouraged to be informed, to support, and to disseminate information about the UN, its humanitarian objectives, and the work of its agencies – especially in public observations of UN Day on October 24 each year.

Lions can organize international relations projects in support of the association’s policy statement on international relations and the Lions position on peace. Specific adopted programs include:

Lions are also encouraged to organize service activities in October as part of International Relations Month, which encompasses a worldwide celebration of UN Day and World Lions Service Day.
