International Understanding and Cooperation Award (Outstanding Club Patch)
An Outstanding Club Patch award is available upon request to the district governor for presentation to the one club selected for outstanding participation in International Understanding and Cooperation activities. The governor may seek the advice of the International Relations chairperson regarding recipient selection.
Awards Available to Clubs
- International Club Twinning: Upon reporting the first club twinning during a fiscal year to Lions Clubs International, clubs receive a twinning patch. Clubs receive no further award or recognition for that twinning relationship. If the club initiates another international twinning during another year, the club may then apply for another patch for the second twinning. Regardless of the number of twinnings in a fiscal year, a club may receive only one award. Clubs are advised to limit the number of twinnings in order to develop those relationships.
- International Relations Certificate of Appreciation (download only): This certificate is appropriate for presentation by a district or club international relations chairperson to Lions and non-Lions who have participated in a Lions international relations project.
- Award for Lions Top Ten Youth Exchange Chairpersons: To be eligible, a Lion must actively participate in the Lions International Youth Exchange Program during the fiscal year of nomination.
- Lions/UNICEF School-in-a-Box banner patch award: Lions clubs that donate US$500 to LCIF for the UNICEF School-in-a-Box program will receive the Lions/UNICEF School-in-a-Box banner patch award.
