Performance Festival

SingingThe Ninth Annual Lions Performance Festival held during the 92nd Annual Lions International Convention in Minneapolis featured performers from many different cultures.

From Minnesota, USA, the White Bear Lake Lions Club presented a warm welcome skit entitled, "Lake Cruise."

From New Jersey, USA, the Edison Metro Lions Club performed the sounds of Chinese music with the songs, "You and Me" and "Butterfly Lovers."

From Alaska, USA, International Director Dr. Jerimiah Myers performed an original song entitled "When They Die at 27," "He Lives in You" from the movie The Lion King II and a new version of International President Al Brandel's theme, "Everyday Heroes."

 

 

 

Dress Up

From Croatia, International Director Bojan Sober along with his wife, Past District Governor, Olga – both professional opera singers – sang three duets: "Cinque, dieci" from The Marriage of Figaro, "La ci darem la mano" from Don Giovanni and "Papageno-Papagena" from The Magic Flute.

Julie Schwartz, a classical pianist, member of the Bismarck Prairie Rose Lions Club of North Dakota and wife of Past International Director Bruce Schwartz, accompanied them on the piano.   



Dance 

From Illinois, USA, the Glendale Heights Barangay Lions Club performed a native Philippine dance, La Jota Moncadena, and the popular dance, Blue Tango.

Lions From Australia, the Touring Aussie Minstrels, ended the show with a multi-media musical invitation to the "Land Down Under" for the 93rd Annual Lions International Convention held in the host city of Sydney, Australia.
