Reading and Literacy Summit

In May, 2013, Lions clubs International hosted a Reading and Literacy Summit to discuss the role of civil society in advancing global literacy and inclusive education.

The event brought together more than 30 organizations - representing a cross section of intergovernmental organizations, development agencies, non-profit organizations and for-profit companies, to engage in discussions related to capacity building within the education sector, promotion of early reading, considerations for people with disabilities, and the use of innovative, low-cost technologies. Among the participants were representatives from:
