North America Extension Workshop Program

The North America Workshop Program is designed to provide extension-minded Lions an opportunity to learn key strategies to charter Lions clubs and participate firsthand in the formation of a new Lions club. Your district can hold either a Traditional Workshop or a Level 2 Workshop.

Since the program’s inception in 2006, Lions have formed more than 625 new clubs in North America.

Campus Extension Workshops

Campus Extension Workshops are available through October 31.  If you are interested in forming a Campus Club in your district, now is the time to do it since it is the beginning of the school year.  To apply, please submit the Campus Extension Workshop Application (pdf) to the Membership & New Club Development Department.

Traditional Workshop

The workshop covers:

The best time to hold your workshop is during the middle of the week when community leaders are most available.  Training can also be conducted on the weekend to allow for more Lions to participate, with fieldwork beginning on Monday.

Apply for a Traditional Workshop

To host a traditional workshop in your area, complete the North America Extension Workshop Application (pdf) and submit to the Membership & New Club Development Department three weeks prior to your requested workshop date.

After the application is approved by LCI, the workshop coordinator should begin to work with the assigned New Club Development Consultant to prepare for a successful workshop.  Also, the day prior to the workshop, the consultant will meet with key Lions involved in the workshop to ensure everything is ready and visit the location where the potential new club will be built.

Level 2 Workshop

Districts identify four to five new club organizers who will commit to form one new club close to their area. The one day training will cover:

Level 2 workshops are a good way to form multiple clubs in your district from a one day workshop.  The key is identifying good club organizers that will make the commitment.  Consultants will be available after the training by phone or e-mail to answer any questions or provide guidance to the new club organizers.

Apply for a Level 2 Workshop

To host a Level 2 Workshop, complete the North America Level 2 Extension Workshop Application (pdf) and submit to the Membership & New Club Development Department.  Please note that a Commitment Form (found on the last page of application) must be signed by each of the new club organizers and submitted with the application three weeks prior to the requested training date.
