Service Awards
The Service Awards recognize Lions and Leos who exemplify the true belief in service. Projects and activities that are submitted should exemplify the objects of the association.
Award Categories
Award categories for the Service Awards include:
- Best Long-Term Environmental Project
- Outstanding Service to the Blind or Visually Impaired
- Best Hunger Relief Program or Activity
- Best Connection to Youth Program*
- Leo of the Year**
- Lion of the Year**
Nomination Process
Nominees must be nominated by a district governor, council chairperson, past international director, past international president, international director or executive officer. To nominate a Leo, Lion, project or activity:
1. Complete a nomination form for each nomination.
2. Prepare a detailed report about the nomination that includes:
- A description of the nominee or project
- Statistical information
- Photographs of the nominee or project
3. Submit the completed nomination form and report to:

Lions Clubs International,

Note: All nominations must be received in Oak Brook no later than March 1, 2012.
Finalist Selection and Notification
Three finalists for each category will be notified and then announced on this Web site. Finalists should plan to attend the awards ceremony (at their own expense) held during the 2012 Lions International Convention in Busan, Korea. International directors will accept awards on behalf of winners from their constitutional areas who are unable to attend.

**Leo of the Year and Lion of the Year, the only individual awards given, can only be nominated by a past international director, past international president, international director or executive officer.
