Leadership Chairperson
Leadership Development Chairpersons promote the growth and vitality of clubs, districts and multiple districts through the development and implementation of programs designed to develop and encourage quality leadership. Knowledge of Lions, experience as an effective leader, enthusiasm for quality leadership development and collaborative skills are essential to each leadership development chairperson.
Responsibilities
- Set leadership development goals and implement an action plan incorporating the goals and objectives of the MERL team.
- Communicate with MERL team members to ensure exchange of information and ideas.
- Facilitate leadership training and report results of training to the Leadership Administration Department at International Headquarters.
- Assist MER chairpersons in planning and conducting workshops and seminars.
- Share leadership development techniques, curriculum, motivation and support using the Leadership Development Manual and other resources available from LCI.

Leadership Programs
- Senior Lions Leadership Institutes Training to prepare Lions for leadership positions at the district level
- Faculty Development Institutes Training dedicated to the development and expansion of skilled Lions faculty
- Regional Lions Leadership Institutes A funding and curriculum program to provide support for training at the multiple district level
- District Governors-Elect Seminar A training and orientation seminar for district governors-elect
- Multiple District Leadership Development Funding (pdf) A funding program to support training of vice district governors and/or district leadership development chairpersons at the multiple district level
