Club Pit Stop Checklist

Follow the checklist below to stay in the race and stay on track!

Pit Stop One (July - September)

Service (Three service projects are required to achieve the Club Excellence Award)

  • Visit the LCI web site to read and watch videos about the president’s theme and suggested service activities. 
  • Make a Plan! Schedule ongoing and new service activities and events.  Set goals for each activity.
  • Participate in the Lions Global Service Action Campaign: Engaging Our Youth
  • Launch a Reading Action Program activity in your community.

Membership and Public Relations

  • Review Membership Goals and determine the activities and actions needed to accomplish the goal.
  • Get member feedback by completing “How Are Your Ratings” the first step of the Club Excellence Process (CEP).
  • Establish a communication plan to keep members and potential members aware of club activities. Give special attention to members who have low involvement. 
  • Download the Public Relations Guide to learn about helpful tools. 
  • Invite potential members to a club meeting or event. Consider showing a segment of LQ (Lions Quarterly).

Operations

  • Make committee assignments and encourage every member to be involved with at least one committee.
  • Update club website with new officer information and scheduled activities or launch an e-clubhouse.
  • Follow up on Club Officer Orientation.
  • Go to “MyLCI” and register for a username and password.
  • Begin to submit monthly membership reports and service activity reports through “MyLCI”. 
  • Apply for  2011-2012 Club Excellence Award for previous year’s club leaders. Deadline September 30th. 
  • Review online statement and ensure Treasurer is familiar with payment terms and process.

Pit Stop Two (October – December)

Service

Membership and Public Relations

  • Invite potential members who attended your meeting or event to join your club. Host an Induction Ceremony.
  • Make sure club members are aware of all club activities and get involved
  • Review the results of the “How Are Your Ratings” analysis and identify areas for improvement.
  • Attain the October Growth Award – Members need to be reported on or before October 31st.

Operations

  • Continue to report club activities and submit a membership report monthly on-line through “My LCI”.
  • Encourage club officers to attend zone meetings (Can be credited toward the Club Excellence Award).

Pit Stop Three (January—March)

Service

Membership and Public Relations

  • Make sure club members are aware of all club activities and get involved.
  • Contact your District GMT/GLT coordinator to schedule a Club Excellence Process (CEP) workshop.
  • Host a new member orientation and begin the mentor process for newly recruited members.
  • Share photos from your projects, fundraisers and events on your club web site and social media.
  • Submit an application for the World of Service Awards, due March 1st.

Operations

  • Submit membership and service activity reports monthly through “MyLCI”.
  • Register for your district or multiple district convention.  (Can be credited toward the Club Excellence Award).
  • Review and pay club statement and ensure Treasurer is familiar with payment instructions terms and process.

Pit Stop Four (April – June)

Service

  • Participate in the Lions Global Service Action Campaign: Protecting Our Environment.
  • Make a contribution to LCIF (a requirement for the Excellence Award).
  • Continue to support and report Reading Action Programs in your community. Recognize members who led the effort.

Membership and Public Relations

Operations

  • Hold club officer elections and submit Club Officers Report (PU101) by May 1st.
  • Host an Appreciation Dinner or event to recognize outstanding service.
  • Make sure the club is in good standing and has a net growth at the close of the year (Requirement for the Excellence Award).
  • Transition to the new officers by providing records, helping them set goals and providing the status of on-going projects.
