The host Lions shall have the option of requiring any inbound exchange participant to subscribe, at the participant's own expense, to medical, life, personal property, liability, or other type of insurance, as deemed appropriate by the host Lions, to cover the duration of the camp and/or exchange visit, regardless of whether said youth is already insured under a policy issued in the youth's home country.
Host families need insurance as well. Lions-approved host families can be officially designated as "volunteer workers" by the Lions club. When the names of official host families are added to the Lions clubs' meeting minutes. Then, the Lions club can provide a basis for establishing the host families as "additional insureds" for general liability coverage.
