Lions' Youth Day with UNICEF
For the first time ever, Lions' Youth Day with UNICEF will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at UNICEF House in New York City. The event is for young people who are under age 18 and sponsored by a Lions club. Reservations are still available!
Leos from 25 countries were in Chicago this July to attend the Leo Global Conference during the Lions International Convention. Leos heard all three of the 2006-07 International Officers speak at Leo events, including International President Amarasuriya who took questions from Leos at the Leo Farewell Assembly. Discussion points from the Leo panel discussions will be available to view in the Leos at Convention section soon.
The Bacolad City Traders Leo Club in the Philippines organized and distributed de-
worming medicine to local children.
Leos from the Bartlett and South Elgin Leo Clubs in Illinois modeled sunglasses during the 11 am news on ABC Channel 7 in Chicago. Dr. Azar from the University of Illinois at Chicago discussed the importance of wearing sunglasses in the summer to protect your eyes while the Leos modeled different types of glasses.
