Sight Night® is an annual eyeglasses collection project organized around Halloween or trick-or-treat in your community.

What is Sight Night?
Sight Night is a national event sponsored by Give the Gift of Sight Foundation and Lions Clubs International. Volunteers from Lions, LensCrafters and other organizations across North America are asked to canvass their neighborhoods and collect used eyeglasses during trick-or-treat.

This is a great opportunity to partner with a Leo club, a local LensCrafters store, Scouts or other community youth organizations.

What Kinds of Eyeglasses are Needed?
Complete pairs of children's and adult's prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses are needed, as well as nonprescription sunglasses. Contact Goodwill, Salvation Army or other organizations to donate eyeglass cases.

What is Done With the Collected Eyeglasses?
Collected eyeglasses are cleaned, repaired and hand-delivered during optical missions to developing countries. These missions are sponsored by Give the Gift of Sight in partnership with Lions Clubs Internatioanl.

How Can my Club Get Involved in Sight Night?

  • Organize your group of volunteers to collect.
  • Download collection materials or order a kit (materials are available in English, French and Spanish). Or, call 1-877-605-4242 to request a kit.
  • Promote your Sight Night collection in the community and with local media.
  • Place Sight Night doorhangers along your route in advance to raise awareness of your collection.
  • Collect eyeglasses during trick-or-treat in your neighborhood (check date and time it is being held in your community).
  • Count the number of glasses collected and report results online by Friday, November 9, 2007 to receive a Sight Night certificate.
  • Turn in collected eyeglasses at your nearest Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center or at one of the following stores: LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, BJ’s Optical, Target Optical or Sunglass Hut. Click here to find the location nearest to you.

Most of all, have a frightfully fun time!

Where is the Nearest LensCrafters Location?

To partner with a LensCrafters store for Sight Night, contact the Gift of Sight Captain or the store's general manager in early September. For the LensCrafters store nearest to you, call 1-800-522-LENS (5367).

Sight Night is part of Give the Gift of Sight, a series of charitable vision care programs sponsored by Give the Gift of Sight Foundation and Luxottica Retail in conjunction with Lions Clubs International and other local charities.
