The Lions Mentoring Program is based on the importance of creating bonds between newer club members (protégés) and more experienced Lions (mentors).
There are four levels of development in the Lions Mentoring Program. Each level is designed to assist mentors in coaching new Lions. Upon completion of each level, both the mentor and protege are entitled to receive awards marking their accomplishments.
–– In LEVEL ONE, Responsibility, the Protégé Lion will receive basic orientation knowledge and learn what is expected of them as a member in a Lions club.
–– In LEVEL TWO, Relationships, the new Lion and mentor are expected to complete a number of specific objectives related to teamwork.
–– In LEVEL THREE, Results, the Protégé Lion (with the guidance of a mentor) is expected to take a greater role in club, district, multiple district and international activities. Level Three concentrates on community projects and programs.
–– In LEVEL FOUR, Replication, the Protégé Lion has the opportunity to mentor new Lions just as they have been mentored.
If you are an experienced Lion with multiple years of service and leadership positions in your past, then you have what it takes to be a mentor. If you are a new Lion (or one that would like to grow in responsibility), then you have what it takes to be protégé.
