The Lions Mission Statement is:

To Create and Foster a Spirit of Understanding Among all People for Humanitarian Needs by Providing Voluntary Services through Community Involvement and International Cooperation.                     

The district governor appoints a Lion to serve as district international relations chairperson. This Lion should be familiar with:

International relations chairperson responsibilities

  • Maintain contact with other multiple district/district chairpersons. To obtain the chairperson's directory, click here.
  • Help establish twinning relationships with clubs in other countries.
  • Encourage Lions to visit other clubs when traveling to other countries.
  • Handle (in consultation with the district governor) requests for international medical assistance.
  • Encourage participation in Lions Day with the United Nations and World Peace Day.
  • Encourage activities such as an international stamp exhibit, an international art exhibit, or the Lions international peace poster contest.
  • Work with youth exchange chairpersons concerning the Lions international youth exchange and youth camp program or other Lions-sponsored international youth programs.
