The district governor appoints a Lion to serve as district environment chairperson:
To help create and sustain conditions under which human society and nature can thrive in harmony and enhance the quality of life for current and future generations.
The chairperson should be familiar with:
Environment project suggestions:
Lions, Lions clubs, and districts can adopt the "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" environmental philosophy. Before creating an environment project, chairpersons should:
- Determine environmental needs and/or problems
- Develop action programs aimed at solutions.
- Work with civic, government, and industry leaders to create an effective and reasonable plan of action.
- Work with the district public relations chairperson to provide project publicity.
