PETER LYNCH APPOINTED EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR
OF LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL

OAK BROOK, IL, January 18, 2007—Peter Lynch was appointed executive administrator of the 1.3-million-member Lions Clubs International (LCI), the world’s largest service club organization, on January 9. The appointment was announced in Oak Brook at Lions worldwide headquarters following a meeting of LCI’s executive committee.

As executive administrator, Lynch is responsible for the international office and all field administrative operations for the association and the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF). His goal is to evolve the organization to meet the challenges facing service clubs and civic organizations in today’s world, by making members’ volunteer involvement more flexible and by reaching out to new markets, through initiatives such as the recent Lions Club Family Membership Program.

An association staff member since 1990, Lynch served as division manager of LCIF, taking on responsibility for foundation operations such as fundraising and partnership development. He also managed the Extension and Membership Division, developing membership growth strategies and pursuing further international expansion.

He earned a Masters Degree in Public Services Management with distinction from DePaul, where he wrote a thesis on how changes in volunteer trends and civic participation were impacting Lions clubs and other service clubs.

Lynch, a member of the Burr Ridge-Hinsdale-Oak Brook Lions Club for nine years and a Melvin Jones Fellow, resides in Downers Grove, Illinois, with his wife Carri, their daughter Catherine, and sons Ben and Jeremy.

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with 1.3 million members in more than 44,800 clubs in 200 countries and geographic areas. In addition to its worldwide efforts to conquer blindness, Lions Clubs International has a strong commitment to community service, especially to helping youth throughout the world.
