Tadao Sugimoto
Tadao Sugimoto, from Hokkaido, Japan, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 91st International Convention, held in Bangkok, Thailand, June 23-27, 2008.
Director Sugimoto is a corporate executive.
A member of the Sapporo Lilac Lions Club and a Lion since 1981, Director Sugimoto has held many offices within the association, including club president, CSF promotion chairperson, multiple district council chairperson, vice district governor and district governor. He has also served as a national coordinator for Campaign SightFirst II.
In recognition of his service to the association, Director Sugimoto has received numerous awards, including a club president award, the 100% District Governor Award, two International Leadership Medals, two International President’s Awards and an International President’s Certificate of Appreciation. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Sugimoto has been active in numerous professional and community organizations, including the Sapporo Chamber of Commerce and the North Hill board of directors.
Director Sugimoto and his wife, Masako, have two children and two grandchildren.
