Yoshitsugu Shigematsu
Yoshitsugu Shigematsu from Osaka, Japan, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 90th International Convention, held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, July 2-6, 2007.
Director Shigematsu is president of a company.
A member of the Ibaraki Lions Club since 1972, Director Shigematsu has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairperson, district governor and council chairperson. Additionally he has served as a chairperson of Youth Exchange, Leadership and LCIF. He also served as Host Committee executive officer for the 85th International Convention. In recognition of his service to the association, Director Shigematsu has received numerous awards, including an International President’s Award, an International President’s Leadership Award, an International President’s Certificate of Appreciation and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
Director Shigematsu and his wife, Yoko, have two children and three grandchildren.
