PAST INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT

J. Frank Moore, of Daleville, Alabama, USA, was elected to serve as president of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 84th International Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, July 2-6, 2001.

He is currently serving as vice chairperson and international coordinator of Campaign SightFirst II, a US$150 million fundraising initiative for Lions Clubs International Foundation’s worldwide program to combat preventable blindness.

Past President Moore is an educator by profession and a former superintendent of education for the Daleville, Alabama, USA, city schools.

A member of the Daleville Lions Club since 1975, Past President Moore has held many positions within the association, including club president, zone chairperson, cabinet secretary/treasurer and district governor. He served as chair of the Lions Clubs International Foundation in 2002-03 and as an international director on the association’s board of directors in 1994-96. Past President Moore was a member of the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum Planning Committee from 1996-98. He is past president of the Alabama Lions Sight Conservation Association, Inc. and past president of the Past District Governors of Alabama. He also served as a District Governors-elect school group leader in 1997-98 and 1998-99.

Past President Moore has received numerous awards in recognition of his service to the association, including two Lion of the Year awards, a 30-Member Key Award, two International President Leadership medals, eleven International President’s Awards and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to his Lion activities, Past President Moore is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is chairperson of the Daleville City Planning and Zoning Commission, a member of the Army Aviation Museum Foundation executive committee and a member of the board of trustees of Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY). He is also a former chief executive officer of the Association of the United States Army.

Past President Moore and wife Rita, also a Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow, have a son and two daughters, who also are Lions, and two granddaughters.
