Everett J. "Ebb" Grindstaff, of Ballinger, Texas, USA, was elected president of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association's 65th annual convention held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, July 1982.

Past President Grindstaff is a practicing attorney and an attorney for the city of Ballinger.

A Lion since 1954 and currently a member of the Ballinger Noon Lions Club, Past President Grindstaff has held numerous offices including club president, district governor, past president of the Texas Lions League for Crippled Children and has chaired several committees at Lions Conventions. He also served a two-year term as a member of the association's board of directors from l972-74.

For his efforts on behalf of the association, he has received 17 International President's Awards, two Extension Awards and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor given to members by the association. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow, Jack Weich Fellow of the Lions Camp and Texas Lions Foundation Fellow. In addition, Past President Grindstaff received the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation's 1983 Humanitarian Award for his work in helping diabetics worldwide, and received the highest award given by the American Diabetes Association, the Dr. Charles Best Award, in l984.

In addition to his Lion activities, Past President Grindstaff is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, past chairman of the Upper Colorado River Authority, Life Member Counselor of Baylor Law School, past director of the State Bar of Texas, past president of the Ballinger Chamber of Commerce and past district chairman and past district commissioner of the Tri-Rivers District of Concho Valley Council of Boy Scouts of America.

He and his wife, Jeannette "Jay," have two children and three grandchildren.
