Shinji Kayamori
Shinji Kayamori, from Nagoya, Japan, was appointed to serve for one year as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 91st International Convention, held in Bangkok, Thailand, June 23-27, 2008.
Director Kayamori is a corporate counselor and retired CEO.
A member of the Nagoya West Lions Club and a Lion since 1980, Director Kayamori has held many offices within the association, including club president, region chairperson and district governor. He has also served as a board committee appointee and national coordinator for Campaign SightFirst II, and is a graduate of the Senior Lions Leadership Institute.
In recognition of his service to the association, Director Kayamori has received numerous awards, including the District Governor’s Certificate of Appreciation, 35 Member Key Award, two District Governor Special Awards, the 100% District Governor Award, two International President’s Certificates of Appreciation, the International President’s Leadership Award and the Humanitarian Partner Award. He is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Kayamori has been active in numerous professional and community organizations, including serving as a director for the Japanese Society for Burn Survivors, the Asia Crime Prevention Foundation, Aichi Prefecture Eye Bank and the Kayamori Foundation of Informational Science Advancement. He is a recipient of the Financial World Laboratory Prize of Management.
Director Kayamori and his wife, Michiko, have three sons and six grandchildren.
