Dr. Jerimiah Myers
Dr. Jerimiah Myers, from Kodiak, Alaska, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 91st International Convention, held in Bangkok, Thailand, June 23-27, 2008.
Director Myers is an optometrist.
A member of the Kodiak Lions Club since 1982, Director Myers has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairperson, region chairperson, district governor and council chairperson.
In recognition of his service to the association, Director Myers has received numerous awards, including three Project Chairperson of the Year awards and two Volunteer of the Year awards, the Humanitarian Award, and the 100% Governor Award. Director Myers is a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Myers is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is a 27-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks and vice president of the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce, and has served as president of both the Kodiak Parent Teachers Association and the Kodiak Convention and Visitors Bureau. Director Myers has four children and two grandchildren.
