Ryuichi Goto
Ryuichi Goto from Kashiwa, Japan, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 90th International Convention, held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, July 2-6, 2007.
Director Goto is the owner of a private educational organization.
A member of the Kashiwa Chuo Lions Club since 1980, Director Goto has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairperson, region chairperson, district governor, district and multiple district Youth Exchange chairperson, multiple district Leadership Development chairperson and multiple district Audit chairperson. He also served as a Senior Lions Leadership Institute faculty member, a Senior Lions Leadership Institute local coordinator, a District Governor-elect Seminar group leader and a Mission 30 international leader.
In recognition of his service to the association, Director Goto has received numerous awards, including the District Governor Appreciation Award, two International President’s Certificates of Appreciation, three International President’s Leadership Awards and three International President’s Medals. He is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Goto is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is director of both the Japan Retinitis Pigmentosa Association and the Kashiwa International Relations Association. He also served as chairperson of the Kashiwa City Conference of Parent-Teacher Associations.
Director Goto and his wife, Hiroko, have four children.
