Maynard Rucks
Maynard Rucks of Henderson, Minnesota, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 87th International Convention, held in Detroit, Michigan, USA/Windsor, Ontario, Canada, July 5-July 9, 2004.
Director Rucks is self-employed and also works for the federal government.
A member of the Green Isle Lions Club since 1980, Director Rucks has held many offices within the association, including club president, district governor and multiple district council chair. Additionally he has served on the Minnesota Lions Eye Bank Board of Directors for six years.
In recognition of his service to the association he has received numerous awards, including a Membership Key Award, International President’s Leadership Award, three International President’s Awards and two International President’s Certificates of Appreciation. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Rucks has been active in numerous professional and community organizations, including the Arlington-Green Isle School Board, Sibley County Vocational Board and Riverbend District Education District Board. He is currently serving as clerk of Jessenland Township, County RLCA president and Area 3 Minnesota RLCA President.
Director Rucks and his wife, Eunice, a member of the Sibley East Lions Club and a Melvin Jones Fellow, have four children (one deceased) and three grandchildren.
