Gifts of securities that are held as book entry can easily be transferred to LCIF via wire transfer. Book entry means the donor does not hold actual security certificates but rather has a receipt indicating ownership of the security.
Complete the donation form and send it to your brokerage firm in order to initiate the wire transfer process.
The securities should be sent to Scottrade using the following information:
Scottrade DTC # 0705 Lions Clubs International Foundation Account #52156075 1600 W. 16th Street, Suite T10 Oak Brook, IL 60523 Phone: 1-800-283-1950, Wesley Whamond
A copy of the completed form should be sent to:
LCIF Attn: LCIF Development Department 300 West 22nd Street Oak Brook, IL 60523-8842 USA
Phone: 630-468-6829 Fax: 630-571-5735 E-mail:lcifdevelopment@lionsclubs.org
In an electronic transfer, the gift date is the day on which the broker actually transfers the securities from the donor’s account to LCIF’s account. The value of the securities is the mean between the high and low prices on that date (gift date).
