LCIF began a partnership with Habitat for Humanity International in 1999 and has provided US$12 million to help construct homes for people with disabilities. A total of 802 homes in Canada, Korea, Poland, Australia, South Africa,  Kenya, Philippines, United States, Hungary, and Romania have been built through the partnership.

One of the Habitat homeowners is Linda McLane of southwestern Michigan, USA. McLane, who is blind, received a three-bedroom home. She then joined the Howard Community Lions Club in Howard Township eight years ago. "I became a Lion to give back," she says. "I'll never be able to give back what I've received."
