LCIF works hard to leverage every donation we receive. The value of every dollar is significantly increased through wise investments and corporate partnership programs.
One such example is the final sum of funds raised through the first campaign for SightFirst. Lions rallied to raise $143 million, but that money was invested and earned considerable interest, bringing the total to over $200 million 15 years later. That’s a 35 percent increase from the original donation total.
Similarly, LCIF works with a number of other non-governmental organizations and corporations on programs of mutual benefit. Through these partnerships, LCIF receives monetary and other assistance. Johnson & Johnson has awarded more $1 million for the Sight for Kids program to screen school children in Asia. Allergan, Inc. has given several grants, the most recent for $75,000 for 10 glaucoma screenings in the U.S.
Other partners like Essilor of America and LensCrafters, Inc. have given in-kind donations in the form of prescription eyewear. These are just some of LCIF’s many partners who support the mission of Lions and LCIF around the world.
Lions can take great pride in knowing every donation to LCIF is well invested, leveraging each contribution well beyond its original value.
