This morning during the Second Plenary Session at Joe Louis Arena, Coretta Scott King will give the keynote address. Regarded as one of the most influential women in the world, Mrs. King is sure to captivate and inspire all convention attendees. She has dedicated her life to carrying out the peaceful message of her late husband, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This afternoon, Melvin Jones Fellow recipients will be honored during a luncheon at the Cobo Conference & Exhibition Center. Also, many informational seminars will cover a wide-range of topics, including membership retention, youth service, strategies for chartering new clubs, Lions-Quest and tips for generating media coverage.
